The Siren is a contribution-based, intersectional feminist magazine that works in solidarity with people of all genders, identities, and lived experiences. We believe through self-expression, art and love that we have the power to amplify the voices of others.
FALL 2026 THEME: MAPS
Highway 99. Neuron pathways. A walk to class. You. All mappable. Embrace your inner cartographer with the Siren this year.
The journey is the point. Most of our lives are spent moving from point A to point B, yet many of us spend our time and focus on the end goal. This year’s issue of the Siren is about paying attention to our journeys.
A map tells stories in all kinds of unique ways. It can document a journey, depict the facets of a network and help you get to where you need to be. If you were to map out your life, how would it look? What would take up space and what would be left off the map?
SOME IDEAS (your work doesn’t need to resemble a map at all):
Is there a significant location in your life?
Has your path been interrupted?
Who/what is allowed to take up space? In Eugene? In the world at large?
How are different aspects of identity connected?
And so much more! Make this theme your own!
